it would be great to hook into the media project or IMCE for this.
(I love the media project but until I am able to add non image MIMES via WYSIWYG, I cant write for it)

I felt a new issue was appropriate because the context has changed so significantly. The new code base to which this will apply *did not exist* 6 months ago!
