I used the MF earlier on a couple sites. I had some problems and moved away from it. Not that I felt the problems couldn't be resolved. Just didn't have time to work through them.
Currently working on a new 7x site and would like some suggestions for what version to use, and most important is it working well enough now.

travist commentedHey domineaux,
I am currently working on the 2.x version which is a complete refactor of MediaFront and plan on having an alpha version ready by the end of this weekend. I would say, however, that it will not be ready for production for another month after that most likely, but will be ready for testing/integration/regression work. I am not sure of your timeline, but if your release date is later than a month from now, then I would probably encourage you to pick up the 2.x-alpha after this weekend and give it a shot. I will be doing some videos over upgrade paths for 1.x sites (since programming an upgrade would be difficult).
Let me know your thoughts.
Travis.

kardave commentedHey Travis,
I'd like to use the new, beautiful, awesome MF 2.0 on a site that goes production in a couple of weeks. Can you still say it will be quite ready at that time, say begining of May?
I'm just asking :) I used version 1.5 till now with custom template, but I just saw your video about 2.0, and it really rocks!
Thanks a lot,
David

travist commentedHello Dave,
I am currently debugging it and still going through some minor tweaks and issues, but primarily the only thing left to do before making it 2.0 is to upgrade the SimpleBlack template to be 2.x compatible. The default template however is ready to roll if you are happy with it. Also, as for stability, I am confident that you shouldn't have to many issues with it beyond this point. In fact, I would probably consider it more stable than the 1.x branch since many issues were fixed in 2.x that plagued the 1.x branch.
So, I would say yes... use 2.x, but please try to stay updated with any new releases I come out with in the meantime and also please let me know if you run into any severe issues with it.
Thanks,
Travis.

vkarmo commentedThe new MediaFront 2.0 is incredible. Where can I get some documentation on theming or custom templates?
travist commentedCurrently this is the one area it is lacking... I have been meaning to make some videos regarding theming and custom templates but have not had a chance to do so yet. If you have an immediate need, you can always just contract me to do it for you. Just let me know.
Thanks,
Travis.

heretic381 commentedAlso interested in theming and making custom templates. Especially for audio. I don't need a big screen for playing mp3 files.
I've tried to follow this tutorial:
http://www.mediafront.org/documentation/mediafront-osm-cms-integration/o...
but, it aint work :(
Beside, there's a problem with that site at the moment.

enjoylife commentedFor people looking for theming information, see #1558624: Custom MediaFront field types not working, specifically comment #10.
And if you are looking for documentation, the best places to look are http://drupal.org/node/1563486 and the README file.

enjoylife commentedI'm closing this, as the original question was answered. Look on the MediaFront project page for updated details about documentation.
