Got a friend who is a graphic designer and wants to see some highly customized Drupal community sites. He's a fan of Wordpress and believes it is the best so lets show him Drupal can do.

The Observer and The Onion are certainly two sites to point him to. Our community pages may not be the most esthetically pleasing, but they do show how you can do pretty much anything you want with Drupal (in our case, make the community area look completely like the existing site, rather than out-of-box Drupal).
