Does job search require patching Drupal Core modules?

The project page includes the following:
"Please see the README.txt file for important information on installation, configuration and the need for patching some core Drupal modules"

However, the README.txt for the Drupal 6 version doesn't mention patching core. If patching core isn't a required step, or is only needed for Drupal 5, it would be great to update the project page accordingly. I think having to patch core would be a big deterrent for many people.
