I get the message "Please create a resume to apply" even if I have already created a resume.

I am using Drupal 5.1 and the jobsearch module version 1.7.2.3 from the 2007/05/31. I have build both content types, for jobs and for resumes, and the view for jobs. I have asign them the type job and resume, and also the access control for users.
For the access control apart from the nodes permissions I get this options:

    apply for jobs
    manage job applications

is it right?

thanks a lot!

I tested using the latest 5.x version (-dev) and it works fine for me.

I mean the same version that you are using.

I also have this problem too. Looking at the included README.txt, #5 does match the available options I see:

5. Go to Administer -> User Configuration -> Access Control.
Assign view jobs to the recruiter/employer role, and apply for jobs to the
job seeker role. Also assign view resume to the recruiter/employer role.

Under Access Control (logged in as admin, uid 1), I have these permissions:

job module
-apply for jobs
-manage job applications

I don't have view resume or view job under Access Control. loginsvariaditos - can you verify these options aren't available in your install?

I tried disabling/re-enabling the modules, verifying other permissions, and more to no avail. This is with the latest jobsearch (6-19-07) and Drupal v5.1. Jobsearch installs without error. Only 4 other small modules installed, so I don't see any potential conflicts. Any suggests on what else to try? Glad to help diagnose/resolve this.

d0t101101 , he means he used views module create some views for jobs.

loginsvariaditos, did you go under /admin/settings/job and click at least one content type, and under /admin/settings/resume click at least one content type?

This is essential.

You also have to go to /admin/user/access and make sure that the role allowed to apply for jobs (maybe just authenticated users, or job seekers/candidates) has the 'apply for jobs' permission checked.

If you want, I can go in to your site and check if everything is OK.

Hi kbahey,

I also have the views module installed. Posting/viewing jobs works fine, but I still can't figure out how to let users post 'usable' resumes. In Administer > Site Confguration > Jobs/Resumes, I've checked the new CCK content type I made for each (ie jobs > jobs and resumes > resumes). The job is created ok and appears in my browse jobs view I manually created. After logging in with the proper account to apply for a job (or even admin!), I'm instructed to "Please create a resume to apply". I've followed this link many times to create a resume as that particular user, but cannot seem to use the new or old resumes to apply for the job - jobsearch doesn't see it and asks me to create a resume again. The new resumes appear only under 'recent posts' and are viewable by both roles (job posters and resume posters).

Is the Administer > Site Confguration > Resumes entry the only setting, or should their be resume permissions in Drupal Access Control? Are there any requirements for what can be used as a resume?

Thanks again for your help resolving this,

.

It worked as long as the resume content type was called 'resume', but did not work for other content types.

Fixed.

Please wait 12 hours, then download 5.x-1.x-dev again and try it.

I'm running Drupal 6.17 and have the latest Job Search module. I have configured everything according to instructions, but I am still getting the "Please create a resume to apply" even if I have created several resumes. What might I be missing?

here also same problem.i used cck and views to post and view all jobs. i logged into job seeker account and when i try to apply for job its asking to creating resume. i created resume but i did not find any resume even admin also but in content it is showing content type resume. i created once and again i tried to apply again its asking to create resume. in admin as well as job recruiter also i am not able to see resumes. to see jobs i used views because everyone can see jobs and can apply but in the matter of seeing resumes only job recruiter has to see resumes. if i use views to see all resumes then everyone can see all resumes including job seeker. so if any one has experience with job search module please help me to solve this problem. if user already created resume it cant ask him to create one more resume. user has to be able to apply with existing resumes.

Thanks
