And how hard is to to setup if someone does not have is own server but just a shared hosting although with SSH2 access?

The code from HEAD should be compatible with 5.1, with the same features from 4.7.
BUT, you have almost no chance of setting it up in a shared environment with ssh. This is becuase you need to configure either a Postfix or Exim mail server especially to work with og2list... This may be something your provider is willing to do for you, maybe not.
In any case you shoudl find that out as your first step.

Not sure, it would be up to killes who is currently maintaining the module to create a release. You could try asking him directly if he doesn't reply to this thread.
BUT you can just download the HEAD (og2list-HEAD.tar.gz) and use that.
From the og2list homepage where it shows the 4.7 version to download, click "View All Releases". Then you will be able to download og2list HEAD, which should work with 5.1.

If you have any issues with 5.1 support in HEAD then you can post them as issues here.

I will create a release once I am confident it works. Sadly, I currently don't have much time for this project and also no test setup. So I am relying on your feedback.

Hello potential og2list testers!
We are close to having a release version, but I still need help testing the following 3 patches. All need to be tested and committed before we have a bug-free version of og2list to release. As far as I know these are the last 3 to get in before we have a stable, bug free version we can release.
