First, thank you for the very cool, useful module.

I'm not sure if this is a feature request, a bug, or something I just haven't figured out how to do in the existing installation, but here's what I'm hoping for....

User creates a Gallery and selects the category it belongs to (using the in Taxonomy module, not Category). E.g., "Brand X"

User uploads pictures, and those pictures are automatically categorized with the Gallery's categories. The user can also select from some image-specific categories, e.g., "Product 1"

If there is a way to do this already, please let me know. If not, if there's a way to make that happen I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Patricia

Title: Apply gallery taxonomy to images? » Apply ALBUM taxonomy to images?

Oops, I meant Album, not gallery. Sorry!

If you have a vocabulary assigned to the "album" and "image" types, they should show up and be usable. It works for me. All of my pictures have at least 4 tags each.

Thanks for the reply, Nancy. I tried that but while this allows me to apply taxonomy terms to albums and then individually to the images within them, what I want is a way to *automatically* apply selected taxonomy terms from the album to all of the album's images.

For example, on my family site I uploaded an album of pics from a trip to Kentucky. I would like to be able to apply the "Kentucky" taxonomy term to the album and have an option to make it automatically applied to each image within that album. This would allow me to easily make a View that displays all "Kentucky" images from any albums.

I can see how this shouldn't be default behavior, but it would be a really handy option whenever a vocabulary is enabled for both albums and images.

Am I missing something?

BTW, assuming I'm not missing something, is there an appropriate way to "sponsor" a feature within an existing module? I want this feature for my business site, too, so I'm willing to put a few bucks behind it. Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks,
Patricia

PRFB,

The easiest way I know to do what you are asking is to use the "Album Contents" mass-edit feature. I know this is not automated, but right now, that is the easiest way to edit lots of items.

Others have requested that items inherit all of the album categories. This may be possible at some point in time, but I haven't found time to implement this yet.

As for other feature requests, the best way to get a feature is to post a request to the issue queue. While I can't accept payment for features, I am always open to donations (http://vernon.mauery.com/content/projects/software/acidfree/donate).

Vernon, thank you for your reply ... and for the wonderful module. I just made a small donation to the flowers-for-Vernon's-wife fund. Acidfree makes my life a lot easier.

It really would be great to have this feature whenever you have time.
