Enable Status Update for Content Type and adding Content Type stops working

I'm trying to get Status Update working when a particular particular node type is added, but when enabled trying to add content of this type stops working. Instead of being shown a page with the content I've tried to add and a message to say the node has been created I just get taken back to the blank Create Article page.
