Setting the language to "hidden" in the "manage display" doesn't work, it will pop back up into the display list, every time you came back to the "Manage Display" it will pop back up. :(

got it:
it needs to be set for all the languages at the same time so edit it at the site/nl/admin/structure/types/manage/webform/display settings and edit it at the site/en/admin/structure/types/manage/webform/display settings

still a bit odd to set the display at every language..
also no css around that link

It may be a caching issue. However I cannot reproduce it with i18n. Maybe it is another module that keeps some kind of field settings per language? (Entity translation? Webform?)
