Currently "When should results be displayed" is a system-wide setting.
When Advanced Poll is used for carrying surveys (as opposed to real voting)
displaying the results immediately results in increased partecipation.
"When should results be displayed" should be set on per-poll basis,
admin/settings/advanced-poll could be used as default.

I'm hesitating to put to much options on the node form.

The problem with my site is that some surveys are virtually "open forever" with immediate results display, but then I cannot have "real polls" running at the same time. Anyway, I can appreciate your concern. Thank you.
