First off, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this...

I would like to request that all projects have the ability to tie themselves to a parent project which will allow for a much more granular level of finding projects that are plugins to a parent project.

Drupal has evolved from:
Core -> Modules
to
Core -> Module
Core -> Module -> Sub Module

For example, when trying to find all of the projects that are specifically designed for "Drupal Commerce", you are presented with anything and everything that has to do with "commerce" in general, not Drupal Commerce. This includes e-commerce, ubercart, drupal commerce and any thing else that might show up within that category or keyword search. There are hundreds to weed through for that category alone.

It would be nice to have a way to look up all of the sub modules to it's parent.

Thoughts?

This sounds like a feature request for the "Project" module, which is the module that governs Projects (modules, themes, etc.) on Drupal.org.

Sounds good, didn't realize it was a module that handled that stuff. Looks like you've moved it to the right place : )

Sounds like you're mostly talking about #1323826: Make it easier to identify and discover ecosystem modules.
