This actually refers to the 2.x-version (when http://drupal.org/node/1244204 is referenced). When opening a picture in a lightbox, it should be possible to just navigate back and forth to the other pictures in the same gallery.

I think this is already the case. If I'm on a gallery node and click on one of the pictures, I can control the lightbox either by clicking onto the links in the bottom left corner or by keyboard.

@leschekfm For me that is not the case being on the 2.x-version. Are you also on that? What patches did you apply?
