Hi,
first, I'd like to thank you for taking up the re-development of this module. The feature list looks just like what I need...
However, your module just won't work on my site. I have to admit that I use a heavily modified profile.module... But even when reverting to the original profile.module, it just wouldn't work. The checkboxes are shown in all the appropriate places after setting some profile fields to use your feature and going into "edit profile". But when viewing the profile, I still get those fields that should be hidden displayed...
Help would be very much appreciated!
Oh, and one thing I noticed with my personal profile.module: It would be very nice if your module supported categories containing special characters like "#" (I know that not even the original profile.module supports these, but still, if just one line of code were necessary...)

The most likely place for this to go wrong is in the theme layer. Try changing your theme to the default Blue Marine and see if the problem still exists. If it does not, then we'll know the problem lies somewhere in the theme you're using or built.

This doesn't seem to be the issue... I reverted to bluemarine with no change in behaviour. I also tried it with the original user & profile modules again in that theme, which also didn't help...
Any other suggestions?

Ah yes. Try logging out and viewing the page as an anonymous user. If you have 'administer users' permission all fields will always be visible, regardless of setting.

Nope, that's not it... I always tried to view the entries with my standard test user... Tried today again just to make sure - no success...

Closing after 6 months. Time to move on from 4.7.
