At first, thanks for this useful module.
I have a question/feature request - I found that default drupal profile system does not offerr so much options as profile created by CCK+node profile+user node, so -can be this feature added for CCK field types?

I am preparing new profile system for our users using CCK+node profile, and I think that something right as this your module is really missing there.

The feature you're requesting is pretty much field-level permissions for all cck-types (including your profile type). While entirely possible, it would best be implemented as a separate module rather than part of this one, as the over lapping code would be very minimal.
