Hmm, I'm really surprised that this wasn't on the Simplenews already, or I'm missing it completely..
I've got a site that has multiple localizations plus a web shop and and event site as well. This means that if I want to advertise something in the shop, I'd like to advertise it to everyone in the shop's list plus to people subscribed to some other lists.
I don't see any way to send the same newsletter issue to multiple subscription lists. I tried to change the Newsletter-vocabulary to "multiple select", but that just doesn't work - whatever I select, it always says that I should select something from the list, which I've already done. So for example if I have 5 lists and the user subscribes to 2 of them and I'd like to send the same letter to those 2 lists, I'd have to make the same newsletter twice and send it twice - and this would still send the mail two times to the person which is on both lists, which is horrible :/
Without this feature it would be next to impossible to have multiple lists for people to subscribe to, since we can't send the same mail to multiple lists.
Would it be huge strain to implement this feature next? Wouldn't it be anything else than including all the addresses of different subscription lists in the BCC field, if general?

tormu commentedTo explain more about the reasons for having this feature (at the end there's another which may be clearer..):
Site X in Y localizations:
Site X France
Site X Finland
Site X USA
Webstore X in Y localizations:
Webstore X French
Webstore X Finnish
Webstore X English
Event site X, also in multiple languages
So, we're creating one Drupal installation just to handle the newsletter - people can subscribe to the newsletters on any of those sites and the site adds the info for the newsletter installation. Then the user can handle all his own newsletter lists from the same place and he may also select more lists to join.
Ok, then we get a great new book to our webstore, but the book is in Finnish. Since that product is extremely important, we want to advertise that to the users of the "Webstore X Finnish" list and "Site X Finland" list. All we can do at this point, as far as I know, is to create two nodes with same content but assign them to different newsletters. If the same user is on these two lists, he receives the same mail twice :(
Altogether it's really weird that it's designed so only one list can be selected - Here's another example.
There's a site that reviews PC games. On that site there's 5 different newsletters, each for different game genre. That way people could subscribe to receive reviews or notifications about them based on the genres they like the most. Some game however will be clearly two or more different genres, so when they'd create a newsletter issue about some game, there should be a way to send the review notification to people subscribed in two or more genre lists. It's also crucial that the same mail doesn't go to same people multiple times.
