Author Field Autocomplete does not show a new author

I created a new author in Content->Author. When I go to my Feeds, node processor, author tab, and start typing in the name, it does not show up on Autocomplete to be a registered author in this module.

FYI: If I filter the view based on Author:nid, my newly created author shows up in the list.

Does the author also need to be a user as well?

When I create the author, it does not create a user account for this author.
