other stories that DO NOT use the video field STILL have a "See Video"

If you use 'Image thumbnail' setting in the teaser then any other stories that DO NOT use the video field STILL have a "See Video" text link in the teaser. If you use "Preview Video" then the empty links go away (but the pages take ages to load. Please advise what this is all about
