In a new installation, i had errors and the News and Events apps couldn't be installed. A real bad thing is that the Apps module doesn't say that the problem is module dependency, and i discovered only after looking in the modules page, that they needed DS and this module wasn't part of the Open Academy distro, despite the fact the he is needed.

I don't know where to put it to make a patch, but i think that just putting in the make file will be enough, right?

I can confirm. This happened to me also. I installed Display Suite and after that Open Academy Events installed just fine.

I just installed openacademy-7.x-1.0-beta3-core.tar.gz, but I have some problems for download apps, I try to connect to http://apps.chapterthree.com/openacademy but it show me this error.

Ran into a similar issue where disabling display suite (which would not be needed if you used entity_view_modes) caused an unseen error where each of our 5 sites created 4000+ copies of people-logo.png

I diagnosed it thanks to this error dump. I was mystified why I couldn't locate the source in my code or database. I said to myself DOES IT COME FROM THE AIR?!?

My solution was to disable Apps, as that panoploy/OA stuff was just a starting point for us.
