When I added a logo, it didn't resize, and so it put this HUGE logo in the header and footer. I got stuck trying to remove and then trying to just not display the logo, and nothing was working.

It turns out that I was doing this in the Universal Theme, but that the logo was still present in one of the specific themes. Once I also unchecked everything there, I was able to get rid of the logo. This was frustrating.

Also, later, when I added a smaller logo, it only showed up in one of the two places where the huge logo had originally planted itself.

I'm not sure there is much we can do here. It sounds like a little misunderstanding on your part of how the theme settings and logo upload works. I've tested the logo upload and theme settings, and they work without issue. Sounds like you just need to make sure you are editing the theme settings for the right theme!
