Can I Use Panopoly on Aegir?

You can! The Octopus project (http://drupal.org/project/octopus) supports Panopoly out of the box. Octopus is a bash script to install and/or upgrade, tuned for high performance, Aegir Satellite Instances, compatible with Barracuda.

If you installed Aegir 1.x using the automatic install process through Debian packages or the manual install process you cannot use Drush to install Panopoly since Aegir 1.x uses Drush 4 but Panopoly requires Drush 5. You can install Panopoly on Aegir 2.x which uses Drush 5.

To install Panopoly on Aegir 1.x without using Drush you need to download the tar or zip archive from the Panopoly project page and extract it in /var/aegir/platforms. Next you create a platform in the Aegir backend and point to the directory that Panopoly was extracted to.
