I have Upload enabled and ad_image enabled and can access "file attachment" fields and upload files from other content creation submit forms. Any clues?

Thanks!
Patrick

Does it work for uid 1? Did you assign the 'upload files' permissions to the necessary roles? (It is a different permission that 'view uploaded files', which is what you seem to be describing having enabled in your bug report.)

Thanks Jeremy -- you are tireless...

yes both are set to allow me to view and upload.

dunnno -- we're using subversion for all our developments, and it show on the dev server, but not the local and just not on those sub. forms.

It ain't critical now, cause all content changes are made on dev, but it would be great to know what's happening -- particularly since the "file attachment" collapsafield is working on other nodes... Feel free to close this if you like...

Can you try it with uid 1?

yes, I am user 1 and have tried it -- no go. sorry for being a little vague, but I don't have a lot of time to spend taking this apart, since it works on the dev site. Thanks for your focus though.

I have another question: how can I set a particular group to be _self. I have other ads set to _blank, but I want to use an "ad" as a block to reference an internal page. Seems it would be great to allow granular rather than global (individual ad vs all ads) control over this URL linking... Thanks.

For example, is there a conditional that can be written into the ad_views.inc that would tell it to _self a particular ad group?

Do not ask unrelated questions in the same issue -- it makes things confusing for everyone, and makes it hard for other's to search up answers. Please re-ask your unrelated questions in a new issue (and then add a pointer to that new issue in this issue for anyone that ends up here trying to find an answer to your new questions).

As for the lack of a file attachment field, offhand I've no more ideas why it's not there. Let's leave this issue open, please update it if you find the answer.

(BTW: Are you using OG or any non-core access control software?)

If you arrived at this thread hoping to find a discussion on internal AND external URL refs go to this node:

Sorry about the confusion and for crossing threads.
