hi,

for newcomers it might be interested to point out for which use cases Cartaro is a good choice.

what do you think about comparing it for example to http://drupal.org/project/ol_locator or a do-it-yourself-approach

maybe this is out-of-scope, but i just want to point out that we currently have such high-level documentation in different places:
http://drupal.org/node/241563
http://groups.drupal.org/node/89769
http://drupal.org/node/1256910

regards,
dasjo

Hi,

you're raising a good point. The problem is that there not really similar projects out there in terms of feature checklists.

OpenLayers Locator might to be the most similar Drupal project, but seems to be more focused on addresses and geocoding while missing the OGC services that Cartaro provides.

You can think of Cartaro as an extended "GeoField & OpenLayers" approach by integrating PostGIS and GeoServer.

Soon we will publish some use cases on cartaro.org and documentation on drupal.org will also be improved.
