After upgrading from i18n-7.x-1.5 to i18n-7.x-1.7 "Multilingual settings" submenu (at "admin/structure/types/manage/NODETYPE") became unavailable in case in "Publishing options" submenu for that node type we set "Multilingual support" to "Enabled, with field translation". If "Multilingual support" is set to "Enabled, with translation", everything is fine.

This bug is reproducible at clean D7.14 installation, with Internationalization 7.x-1.7, Variable 7.x-2.1 and Entity Translation 7.x-1.0-alpha2.

Yes, this module tries to keep hands off modules translated through ET, see #1549150: Skip synchronizing and altering node forms when using other translation systems.
