Hi, I'm looking for a base theme and AT seems to be pretty good. The thing is I wish I could use this module (project/views_column_class) with my AT_subtheme. The module gives a Responsive Views display using the grid system of the the core theme. The problem is that I don't know how to make it work with Gpanel if possible. It actually work with Omega because of the 960.gs and I was able to make it work with Zen (Zen-grids). Have you heard about that module and how can I use it with Adaptive Theme?
Thanks a lot,

kingfisher64 commentedAdaptive theme doesn't implement 960 grid system. So applying the grid's classes via column class mod won't work.
It's something I really miss from Omega.
Not sure how Jeff would feel implementing this? - maybe the code could be borrowed from zen or omega.

kingfisher64 commentedChanged title to more accurately refelect request.

Jeff Burnz commentedNot sure how it works, if it allows arbitrary class names then i suppose it could leverage the generated css. I need to test it out, sounds like mostly a documentation issue.
kingfisher64 commentedHave a look at http://960.gs/ Jeff
It's a nice concept. As you can see from the official site drupal.org uses it from the omega theme.
Others good sites with detailed info and demo's include:
http://grids.heroku.com/ - good demo

Jeff Burnz commentedAT does not, will not and will NEVER use a grid system.
AT is smart technology, grid systems are "dumb" technology and the choice to not use one is very deliberate - they are far too constraining and too many compromises and hacks must be made to make them work in responsive design.

kingfisher64 commentedThere are comprimises when it comes to grid system - it's very handy for accurate prototyping but I understand what you're saying from the comprimises point of view like % sidebar flexibility.
In the area of wireframing or prototyping would you consider in addition to region highlighting sub region highlighting in debugging mode then?
If this is something you'd consider I'll open a seperate request and re-close this one. I don't mind doing the leg work myself as I'm aware the classes from whatever way the user uses at will vary. No panels, panels IPE, gpanels etc etc. I don't think this is anything but a minor feature. It's just using current debugging mode you've already implemented and going one step further in highlighting sub regions like say there are 3 panels within the footer and applying css to highlight that sub region in debugging mode.

Jeff Burnz commentedCan you possibly make a visual mockup of what you are describing, not sure I follow exactly.
Jeff Burnz commentedThere is nothing to review (no patch).

kingfisher64 commentedLooking into this issue a basic css highlighting in debugging mode is nowhere near enough sufficient. There's potential for a wireframe module on drupal - perhaps leveraging the power of panels, form builder to drag and drop specific page elements and design blocks - building up the look and feel of a design.
I'm abandoning the idea mentioned in the above posts though as that would be a crude implemenation of what could be a really useful module if it was done properly. A ruler system could be used to give precise measurements on the page - like the photoshop rulers on the top and left. There's lots of potential.
For now i'll stick with http://pencil.evolus.vn/ which is an excellent open source wireframing piece of software, but give serious consideration into making this next year for drupal 8. I need to get going with building useful modules for drupal to contribute.
