It is very important in many occasions to execute PHP in the site footer. It would be great if Drupal 4.6. could support JavaScript and PHP there.

TDobes commentednew features are added only to the CVS version of Drupal... 4.5.x is in a bugfix-only stage. Changed version appropriately.
In my opinion, this would best be accomplished by using "input formats" for the site footer, just like any other input field in Drupal. This would help consistency and allow for use of the PHP filter for quick scripts.

TDobes commentedAs it turns out, you already had a nearly identical issue pending. I'm marking that one as a duplicate and making this a bit more general (the same need could arise for the site mission in addition to the site footer).

TDobes commentedAnother thought: It would be nice to use input formats for the "description" fields of taxonomy terms.

bdragon commentedFeatures go to 7.x.

berdirFooter and Site mission are simply block regions now, so this has resolved itself.
(Sorry for pinging the participants, I'm trying to clean up a few old
issues)
