I posted a request for help with this problem a while back but got no joy - I'm thinking about upgrading to 5.2 in the hopes that it will go away. Can someone tell me whether there is anything particular to do in order to handle the internationalisation upgrade, or do you proceed as per a normal site? I would expect to simply switch off the site, switch to default theme, switch off all contrib modules (including internationalisation), then upgrade Drupal, and switch on and upgrade the contrib modules. Does this sound correct?

davemybes commentedYep, that's the way to do it. However, there still seems to be an issue with menu doubling after the upgrade. I just did it on a site and had doubled menus (though, only on the Navigation menu). On a clean 4.7 install, the upgrade supposedly works fine (never tried it myself). So make sure you have a backup of everything before you do it - hopefully you've already done this :)
