Description

I've tested fivestar(http://drupal.org/project/fivestar) and Jrating and came to the conclusion that fivestar has better options for administrators but Jrating has mutch better looking and usability.
Why not merge the two projects?

Could do, but I quite like having the two projects free to try out different ideas. If there are specific things that you'd like to see in jRating that are in Fivestar, post them here as feature requests - it's normally quite easy to transfer the code.

One difference in appearance is due to the fact that jRating uses the famfam icons for its stars. Fivestar hasn't done that, and hence doesn't look as spiffy, because the famfam icons cannot legally be included in Drupal's CVS repository.
