I think filebrowser is a great module. The one limitation I think would be worth
removing is to have a single directory tree. While I certainly can add convenience
shortcuts for subdirectories in my menu, I may want to give different access
permissions to different files. This is not possible right now.
So, replacing the root directory parameter by a list of directories, each with
its own access control, would be a great addition.

As 6.x is a complete rewrite of the Filebrowser module, I don't plan on backporting this change to 5.x unless someone else provides a patch.
