Is there a way we can add additional field in media edit page.

You can add fields in Administration --> Configuration --> File Styles
The path is: /admin/config/media/file-types

There you can add for each type of media specific fields.

How do I get these added fields to display in the slideshow? Do I use a .tpl file? Thanks.

I did try through views / views slide show but no luck. Please share if you got the answer to your question.
