From many conversations I've had with other contributers, I decided that it would be interesting to allow users to rate modules and themes. At first, I tried to talk d.o (drupal.org) developers about exposing this feature on d.o (let's be honest, it would be cake to do so because the modules already exist), but it was decided that votes would be skewed, as has been seen with other CMSs' websites. Taking the matter into my own hands, I wrote a module that fetches the latest modules and themes from d.o and inserts them as nodes on my site. Accordingly, users can login to my site (using their d.o username) and rate and comment on them. The module and theme listings are updated weekly, automatically. Without further adieu, go and rate some modules and themes!
Or, if you'd like, feel free to read and reply to my blog post about this- http://drupal.mattwkelly.com/node/1353
If you have any suggestions/comments, please post them! I'd love to see this used as a tool by users to share information about contrib modules.

If it is, the results aren't public yet. I was only pointing out in the case that you wanted to run it instead of the five star voting system you have implemented.
I agree with those that believe a simple voting system can promote skewed results which is bad for contributions. Especially in the case of anon voting which would allow me to vote on a multitude of machines as an anon user. This is of course simply my opinion.

Apart from drewish's
Apart from drewish's project, these rating systems aren't very useful without separate metrics. What would a rating from 1 - 5 be based on? And would those factors be applicable/useful for all potential users?
e.g. A 'duplication' metric to evaluate whether a project is providing a non-unique solution ;)
