batch stuck

there is really 2 issues here; but will create 2nd issue when i learn more about it.

i am importing 400 rows from a CSV.

the first 100 imported fine. i then get an ajax error msg at batch = 24% stating recursion is too deep - this is the other issue which i'll report on later - it has to do i suspect with importing into collections and the work going on with generic entity processor.

but; now that batch dies at 24%.. i do another import.. the import button is disabled and the text for the button simply states "importing (24%)"
