Image_assist is really not being that helpful! There must be an easy way to add images to a post.

Is there an easy way to add images to a post?

I've tried image_assist, image_attach, flickrstickr and more, and they all seem to be complicated, or in the case of most of them be totally broken.

Ah, image_assist. How broken you are! When I choose thumbnail, you insert nothing but a few tags. When I choose Original, you insert a thumbnail. And why, why, do you not let me just link to the original file?

All I want is to easily upload and insert inline thumbnails into a story, then have them appear full size in a lightbox when clicked on – without having to type in or alter any code. If it's possible to pull in images from Flickr to do the same thing, so much the better.

As far as I can work out, this isn't possible.

Please, please prove me wrong. There must be an easier way.

If you don't need image galleries you can try a solution not using image module. There is the IMCE module, which has become very popular for uploading inline images because of its ease of use. Not as advanced in image processing capabilities, but it has what is needed to get the job done.
