My client does not like the Browse Server button or the server file chooser when clicking on an image icon. He simply wants a direct interface into browsing the user's local disk for selecting files.

At the back end we still need to store and serve the files up privately.

Is there a simpler image chooser than the default that will support this. Or alternatively, a way of configuring the current one to limit the functionality?

I'm moving this issue to the IMCE queue as this is about configuring the browser itself, not the editor plugin.
IMCE Wysiwyg bridge only opens the IMCE browser on behalf of the editor.
