sites/default read-only error

When I installed the fresh beta1-version from yesterday (Sept. 14, 2007) on my own (FreeBSD 6.2, Apache2.2, php5.2.3, MySQL 4.1.22) server and was requested to write protect sites/default at the end of the installation process, which I did, I was sent back to the start of the installation process again.

I erroneously gave it 644.

My guess is that the folder should have 755 and the settings file 644.

A bit clearer instructions would have solved this.
