Hi,

before I updated everything worked fine: I use display suite for heartbeat messages in which I used ds_avatar for displaying the user's pictures. But after I updated the picture is not shown anymore with the message although the settings for heartbeat messages display did not change. Does someone has an idea what can cause this?

The API changed between 6.x-1.x and 6.x-2.x. Most things still work, however I don't know whether Heartbeat was updated or not. You might like to check in their issue queue.
