Hi,
there is no release for this translation -> It's useless for non-russian people creating russian translation of their website. Please create at least one release.

jmlane commentedI don't see how this needs more info...
It would not be that difficult to have a release committed of the .po files. Some people just want the UI translations for a multilingual site, and I don't speak Russian, so I can't understand the Drupal.ru post about the translations (maybe there is an explanation for the lack of release on that site).
It would be nice to see some action taken on this.

grah commented+1 for a release.

jmlane commentedCreating a release is not difficult, if I understand correctly how it works.
Someone with CVS access for the Russian translation project needs to commit to CVS the last stable version of the .PO files, and tag that commit as stable release for 5.x, 6.x, or whichever version it applies to.
Just shrugging and pointing to an external link does not solve (and thus merit closing) this issue. All projects on Drupal.org should keep their latest work available from this site.
And if you need an additional reason, like I said previously in my comment above, some people will not understand Russian that are trying to install that locale on a Drupal site, so they won't be able to understand those Russian sites provided above.
Whomever is managing this project on Drupal.org should please take a few moments to learn how to create a release in the CVS system. If nobody has the desire or time to do so, I would be happy to do this myself (I would need access to the project CVS, or else I would have done it already).
Thanks for your understanding in this matter,
Jonathan
