I'm currently wrapping up development on Gallerix v1.0, a full featured AJAX gallery for Drupal. Features include:
- Batch uploading.
- Grid album view.
- AJAX photo browsing, commenting, voting, and minor editing.
- Easily expandable widget engine.
- Adjustable resolutions, originals left untouched.
- Security features.
- And many other features...
Requirements
- Drupal 5.x
- Working Image Toolkit (GD)
- Permission to mkdir, rmdir, unlink, and chmod.
- Views (Optional)
At this point, I plan on releasing the base Gallerix module for free, under the GPL. It'll be available on the modules section after testing. However, I plan on releasing the widget engine, as well as separate widgets that use this engine, for a price, which isn't set yet.
I'm looking for beta testers who want to get their hands on (almost) finished code for the gallery itself, the widget engine, and a few widgets. Of course, once the module is released, those testers would get the engine and the included widgets for free.
If you're interested in testing, please use the contact form to reach me. Although I need some testers with PHP knowledge, non-programmers are welcome too.
Thank you for your time,
Silvio

As of right now, that's the only way to batch upload. That is, through a ZIP file. Once SWFUpload is fixed, you'll be able to batch upload without having to ZIP files.

Nice
That sounds good. Uploading a zip archive is a good feature.

Of course, it will probably require you to change max exec time, upload size, and post size to be of any real practical use.

Always do...
I don't think there's ever a Drupal site I work on without adjusting those values.
Gallerix sounds fantastic. Do you have a demo?

Currently I do all my testing on a home server, but as soon as I put up a demo on a public server, I'll let you know.

Dropped you a note...I'm very interested in gallery alternatives, and have a couple photo heavy community sites (and willing members) that could beat up on things for you.
Thanks!
I'd be interested
I have been looking for a module like this for ages, it sounds really good. I'm looking forward to testing this new excellent module. I made an online community for Multimedia developers called Mulpo, I'd really like to test your code on the sandbox for this site, and eventually add the finished module to the live site.

Sound Good, Please count me one, I am working on the web-programming and also I can help this module to translate in chinese.
Interested
I'm definitely interesting in something like this, as I'm actually, at the moment, building a photo website with Drupal that is almost complete. I would love to try something like this to see it in play.
sure
I'd be interested.. does it have photo annotation?
I've merged acidfree and fotonotes: http://www.cvillessc.org/node/428
but I'd love to get something a little smoother.. ideally, I'd like when a person is tagged (have the note field have a form with a checkbox list of drupal users/friends), for them to receive a notification, a la facebook.
So if this has something like that, or can be easily added, I'm all for it.
Chad
Is your site running Drupal 5?
Is your site running Drupal 5? I didn't know imagenotes had been updated to D5.
Public Beta Soon
Hey Guys,
I will make a public beta available on my site either tonight, or tomorrow night. Of course, I can't offer the widget engine for free, but you'll be able to download the GPL-ed Gallerix. I'd appreciate any feedback, so I can release an official version.

PS. There's an "annotation" feature available as a widget, but no people tagging just yet. I do plan on working on that feature once Drupal 6 comes out, since it will support draggables (JQuery 1.1).
id like to test this too
