Hello,

I'm new to Drupal and I just installed the core yesterday, that is as far as I have gotten. I'm interested in creating a site, mostly to display graphic art pieces. I'm looking to display content such as static images as well as video and flash content. Perhaps some slideshow type of image display.

So whatever I do it will be geared towards media and graphics. I'm just wondering if anyone could suggest the best type of themes I might want to start looking at. I'm just not at all familiar with what is available for Drupal. I'm looking for myself now but thought I'd ask those who might know better. I installed 7.16.

Thanks!

Depends...

Are you familiar with HTML, CSS and web design? Are you OK with coding or do you just want to point and click? Do you want to create your own design or use a pre-existing one?

If you just want to point and click, then perhaps you should look at a theme based on Fusion (http://drupal.org/project/fusion) or AdaptiveThemes (http://drupal.org/project/adaptivetheme) such as http://drupal.org/project/magazeen or http://drupal.org/project/corolla .

If you want to develop your own design and CSS, then you should look at Zen (http://drupal.org/project/zen).

You might ask if you want a mobile/responsive theme, drop down menus or other features. You can find lots of themes at http://drupal.org/project/theme

That's very helpful, thank

That's very helpful, thank you. I think it would be best for me to go the point and click route, at least for now. I'm ok with editing and changing up HTML and CSS but to create it from scratch... not so much. And I don't mind a pre-existing theme either if I can change it up to one extent or another. I'll look at these that you've suggested. I really appreciate it!
