with d6 the default field permission from cck all settings showed up at /admin/people/permissions . Ok cck delivered less options - but considering the time we have to spent configuring field permissions afterwards by clicking from field to field it is kind of time consuming.

It was easier having all permissions at one page instead of having them at the field settings.... Just a thought.

As support for D7 draws to a close, the scope for D7 field permissions isn't likely to be expanding any time soon, and given the age of this issue, I'm closing.
