Is there a way to display a brilliant gallery from a computed field in CCK. Whatever I tried, the computed field always shows the string [bg|......] instead of the actual gallery.

Good question, but really the issue is whether any filter set in /admin/settings/filters can be used in the computed field. So I recommend asking this question at http://drupal.org/project/issues/computed_field
