Date is always displayed in Y-m-D format when using exposed filter

I have a dutch site where all fields are configured to display stuff in d-m-Y format. I got several date popups on the site all displaying dates correctly. But the views exposed date field doesn't work properly. It always displays in Y-m-d format. And I can't find the setting that correct this.

I tried to change the format in code. When doing that the date popup works but when I apply the filter it tells me that the format is invalid because it still uses Y-m-d in the backend.

Someone can tell me where I can find this setting???

(btw I'm using better exposed filters on top of date views)
