Attempting to use media_gallery-7.x-2.x with media-2.x and Panopoly distro - modules detailed below
(Yes I know, I KNOW!!! this is not a plain Drupal 7.x install (pre-empting talk of not using media_gallery with a plain install etc.), but we should try to make media_gallery work in as many distros as possible, after all media works in it, and I would imagine that most don't just usse the plain vanilla Drupal 7 install - they add modules or perhaps use a distro that has an install profile plus contrib modules out of the box. Panopoly is a major advance on layout usability, so if we are to support any distro, Panopoly should be among the first, if not the first.)

- Downloaded panopoly 1.x-rc3 Drupal distro - drupal.org/project/panpoly - this uses media-2.x
- Downloaded media_gallery-7.x-2.x-dev plus modules it depends on including plupload (versions of modules used were on date of 13 Dec 2012).

moloc commentedUploading should work. Can you try to update these two modules and check again, if it is not working?

therobyouknow commented@Moloc - I tried your suggestion to upload the latest modules (thanks) but still problems - this time, the whole user interface screen for uploading media files is blank - it looks like the page has hung - see screenshot (and Terminal log of my steps after that)

therobyouknow commentedI think I missed uploading the plupload *library* - I've done this and it works now. Sorry. Closed. Will detail what I did later.
