In newsletter your should insert a image which will be loaded when a user will open a newsletter.
User opens a newsletter and a mail-client ask an image using a path you have specified in src-parameter of img-tag.
This path could be, for axample: http://drupal.ru/logo.png

logo.png should be a php-script which will collect a number of requests from amail-clients.
This number will be more presentative than a "Request a Read Receipt from your newsletters".
But this is not a ideal solution.
