Front Page Module

Hello everybody.

I am trying to get some simple text on the front page of my website. Having had several work-arounds to this complex problem, I am trying another possibility. This is to use the Front Page Module (by Dublin Drupaller).

I have downloaded it, followed the instructions as far as I could and popped it into the sites/all/modules folder (not the modules folder as I first imagined - well, it's a module right? Well, no. It's a different module. Okay. That wasn't clear from the wording).

Anyway, going to the Modules portion of my administration panel, it doesn't exist. I can't upload the folder as it only allows me to upload files not folders.

If anybody can think of a different work-around to being able to put some content on my front page I would appreciate it.
