Hi!

I couldn't make features to work with your module, so I tried another way to import settings.

I can now import setting by calling $finder->save(TRUE); with this patch what I made.

It seems like a bad idea to disable a hook, and you haven't explained the bug, so I don't trust the proposed changes.
Allowing modules to hook in to finder is certainly not a bug :/
