Is it possible to change the upload page to just show a file field and a title field (like for the Attach Image section from the Image module) rather than the standard Add Image page which has too many extra fields to fit into the popup.

Also is there a way to use the image browser in the main Attach Image section of the add content page instead of the standard dropdown menu listing the image titles (or do you know if there is another module that can do this).

It's possible with the Form Filter module.

I didn't get you here. Are you speaking of the Image Attach module? If so, you need to file a support request in Image's issue queue for that question.
