Hello!

I would really like to install this distribution but I am not a programmer and find the installation documentation a bit difficult to understand. I am using Drupal in a hosted cpanel environment. Is there an easier, step-by-step instruction on how to install?

Would installing a default Drupal 7.x and install the required components (PostGIS, GeoServer, OpenLayers, OpenLayers Editor) from Modules work the same? Thank you for any help in advance!

Cartaro unites various software packages which comes with some complexity. Unfortunately, this means that setting up Cartaro on your own server is not an easy task and you might need to consult the packages' documentation as well.

cPanel offers a GUI for common administrative tasks but as not all of the required components are common cPanel is not much help when installing Cartaro. You can use it to configure SSH access but afterwards you would need to connect using SSH and configure Cartaro's components from the console.

We'll try to provide a simpler means of getting running with Cartaro in future but for the time being I'm sorry that I can't give a more helpful general response regarding your request. Depending on how important it is to you to get running quickly I suggest looking out for commercial support (consider geOps for example).
