I'm using a View Filter to create a GMap with nodes plotted as markers. After trying many navigation options, I've settled for Hierarchical Select.

When I use Firefox, I can select through the hierarchy and submit the filter, getting nicely plotted markers.

In IE, I don't get the markers.

Turn of Hierarchical Select and the markers re-appear in IE.

Any thoughts?

That must be a bug in the JS, that results in a JS error and then breaks all JS. Or something like that.

Does Hierarchical Select still work after you've had that problem in a Google Map?

Hi Wim,

I've done a little more testing and found the following:

Using IE7, if I enable Hierarchical Select, no markers show in GMaps created using views, although the view iteself works fine.

As soon as I disable Hierarchical Select, the GMap markers show in IE.

When I select a view using the hierarchical select as a view filter, the filter fields default back to the first Category (and sub category) in my list once if a view contains data. (this happens in IE7 and firefox 2)

It's a pain because the HS functionality is perfect for my needs. I'm happy to fund a solution - I've funded module development in the past.

I'd like to be able to see your problem live, so I can figure out what the cause is. Could you please send me a link to a live site? You can use my contact tab if you don't want to post the URL publicly.

Hi Wim,

Go to www.oosgot.com and select oosgot local in the top menu bar.

The page layout isn't final but the HS filter for the view is just below the blue section. The map above should show the Map Markers based on the filter. Try it in firefox and IE and you'll see a difference.

Works fine in Safari 3 as well. Will test in IE later, when I have more time.

Hi Wim,

Not sure if you had chance to re-look at this yet. In addition to not passing data to Gmap in IE, there are a couple of other weird things happening.

- If I select a filter for a view, sometimes the HS control defaults to a different set of values after the search, showing no results in my view. Althought the correct data is passed back to Gmap, the list view isn't filtered.

As I mentioned in my original post, I'm happy to fund development of these corrections.

It seems this is caused by the jQuery Interface module: http://drupal.org/node/179121.
