Taxonomy: Taxonomy marked as Free tagging doesn’t show up to create CCK fields
a) I have people entering in venue information for an event. I would like to be able to create a directory of venues from this.
b) I set up a type called Venue on the admin->content management->content type
c) I setup Taxonomy terms: venue_name, venue_address, venue_url as free tags
d) I then want to have these CCK fields in the Venue content type.
e) But they do not show up when I try to add them in the admin-> content management ->content types, Venue, add field
f) What am I doing wrong? Do I even need free tags for this?

you are using the taxonomy wrong. Free tagging is for attaching keywords and such to nodes.

venue_name, venue_address, venue_url should just be text fields
