I love that CKEditor Link is well integrated with CKEditor, but I often have to either supplement its functionality or replace it entirely with Linkit + Linkit Views.

With CKEditor Link, novice users can't:

  • Link to a view
  • Paste any URL (internal or external, with our without a named anchor)

Linkit + Linkit Views can perform these functions that my users are asking for, so it would be great if CKEditor Link's functionality could be extended to cover these use cases, as it is much better integrated with CKEditor than Linkit.

I worked it out.

You can link to a view if it has a menu item.

You can link to internal (relative) URLs with anchors appended by using the type "URL" and protocol "<other>".
